Certain driving offenses automatically come with a license suspension. These include driving while suspended, driving while DUI suspended, overtaking a school bus, and driving without insurance. Each of these offenses come with a specified amount of suspension time.
License suspensions can be costly in more ways than one. Not being able to drive can greatly impact your work and social life. Worse, if you are caught driving while suspended, you face additional suspension time, and possibly jail.
If you are cited for one of the above offenses, you will need to plead not guilty and fight your case in court. Waiting too long or ignoring these citations will result in a suspension or worse. At Musi, Merkins, Daubenberger & Clark, our experienced lawyers can help you fight a license suspension. Don’t wait, the faster you act, the better chance you have of getting your license back. License Restoration
You know your license is suspended, but you don’t know why. Or you know why your license is suspended, but you do not know how to get it back, or even if you can get it back. License suspensions can come in two types: Term Suspensions, and Indefinite Suspensions.
Term Suspensions - these types of suspensions result from being convicted of specific traffic violations. For instance, driving without insurance comes with a three (3) month suspension. All too often, people will learn that they were convicted of these violations unknowingly when they paid the fine, and thereby plead guilty, or never received notification of the court date.
Indefinite Suspensions - these suspensions usually sound scarier than they are. Most of the time, these result from unpaid traffic tickets. Once the ticket is paid, the suspension will be lifted. However, before paying a ticket, it is best to consult with an attorney to make sure that you are not also pleading guilty to a traffic violation that comes with a suspension (see term suspension above).
Regardless of what type of suspension you have, Musi, Merkins, Daubenberger & Clark LLP can help you get your license back. Depending upon why your license was suspended and where, you may have various appeals rights available to you.
