Karapelou 2024 Pennsylvania Superlawyer

Dimitri L. Karapelou, Of-Counsel at Musi, Merkins, Daubenberger & Clark, LLP, was selected as a 2024 Pennsylvania “Superlawyer.” One of only two Delaware County business bankruptcy lawyers chosen as a “Superlawyer,” and now also with an office in Chester County, Mr. Karapelou is honored for his work in commercial bankruptcy.

“Superlawyers” was founded in 1991, utilizing a patented selection process constructed and guided by experienced legal professionals. The process received its official patent from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office in 2013, indicating its undeniable credibility. The magazine reaches an expansive and diverse audience through publications in print magazines, online, and other social media platforms. Selections for “Superlawyers” are made on an annual, state-by-state basis. Candidates are nominated through their peers, third-party feedback, or may even be identified by the “Superlawyers” research team. After receiving a nomination, the research team at “Superlawyers” conducts independent research, using 12 indicators of the candidates’ peer recognition and professional achievements. These indicators include things such as experience, transactions, representative clients, their position within the law firm, and more. Candidates receiving high scores during independent research then undergo peer evaluation in their practice area, where they are rated by panelists also within that area. After this final evaluation is completed, only 5% of the total lawyers in the state are selected for inclusion as “Superlawyers.”

Dimitri L. Karapelou was a part of that 5% selected and named as a 2024 Pennsylvania “Superlawyer!” Mr. Karapelou joined MMD&C during this past year, bringing with him approximately 28 years of experience representing debtors, creditors, trustees, and other interested parties in bankruptcy proceedings, business transactions, and commercial disputes. Some of Mr. Karapelou’s previous engagements have involved tasks such as representing companies in bankruptcy proceedings, representing businesses in non-bankruptcy loan workouts, closings, and liquidations, and the representation of litigants in trials and contested proceedings in bankruptcy, state, and federal courts. Providing a new perspective with each representation, Mr. Karapelou has utilized his own unique and specified strategies to help guide each and every client through the bankruptcy process.

In addition to his flourishing work in the area of bankruptcy law, Mr. Karapelou additionally compliments his private practice with qualifications as a Certified Fraud Examiner, Panel Arbitrator for FINRA, and Panel Arbitrator for the Delaware County Court of Common Pleas. Uniquely, Mr. Karapelou also regularly presents as a course speaker or author at legal seminars attended by lawyers, judges, and bankruptcy/industry professionals, sharing his years of experience with others in the field.
